No-one in their right mind is going to buy Maguire for anything like a third of what they paid and that’s before you consider paying his current wage

His contract has three, plus an optional fourth, years to run and Tranfermarkt have got him tagged with a (rather optimistic) market value of €40m (£33.5m)

So his three years wages are equal to his current value

Klopp would have made him fulfill and progress that potential though. There are a lot of players at United who wouldn't have underperformed elsewhere.

They don’t have bottomless pockets and buying in 8- 10 quality players with no real sale income is not realistic for any club. Especially when everyone knows they HAVE to buy and they are top payers
