I've changed the title, if people want to read about all therumours on Twitter just go to Twitter. There's no point having a mess of a thread about everything every no nothing nobhead tweets.
It was actually a good idea, if we post what some of the more beliveable sources tweets.
"believable" ... ha.

It'll just end up like the rumour mill thread, only one thread on the forum being posted in and nobody posting anything decent in it.

It's a forum killer.
Well, some of the journos have decent connections. Same goes for a couple of others. Make it a sticky and call it SCMs twitter thread or a not so reliable transfer threadish thinghy something. Would be my suggestion at least.
It ruins discussions Hansern.

And we'd prefer if people started threads than kept bumping slightly relevant ones from two years ago simply because it mentions the name of someone. Also if we're modding it's a hell of a lot easier to merge a couple of threads on the same topic than to split two or more apart that are thread worthy in themselves.

There's also the fact that not everyone here is on every day - had we kept the rumour mill thread firstly we wouldn't have a 30 page thread on Henderson and secondly you can't expect people to have to wade through 20-40 pages of Twitter rumours to find something relevant to what's actually been happening. Having separate threads on players avoids that.

Fair enough mate.

In regards to bumping threads with the players names, the ones I've reposted in have been from this year and only a couple of months back. But I see your point, some of the bumping is annoying as hell.

The main worry is, as happened before is that the thread takes over the forum but each individual topic within the thread doesn't get the level of discussion it deserves because there's so much flying about.

We might ask Sunny nicely (when's he not so busy) to see if it's possible to get a Twitter feed on the site that updates itself automatically and people can have a read of it and if they see something worthy of discussing then they can start a thread on it.

I'm not anti-rumours - we just want to organise things in such a way that topics get the attention they deserve and the site is easy for everyone to get what they want from it no matter how often they log on.

Clichy 'very interested' in #LFC's offer but there's plenty of competition from abroad. #AFC

also read somewhere that clichys made the most tackles in the league this year, johno henryo does love his stats

I'll be well chuffed if we sign Clichy.

Arsenal could have big problems next season. You cannot underestimate the impact of their epic failure at the end of last season, furthermore they're facing the prospect of losing Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy; their most experienced player.

Fabregas isnt going anywhere, Clichy could be a decent signing, especially for 5mill, if clarko can teach him how to defend a bit, like he seemingly has with johnson

I thought that was Lucas ?

Anyway they don't like all stats - they look at them and decide which ones have value and which ones don't.

Didn't Camoli say something about the our transfer strategy is based upon stat based evidence?

They aren't first teamers but they look likely to lose denilson, bendtner and arshavin too. It's not looking great for arsenal fans at the moment.

Clichy for 5 million is a bargain

I can fully understand that, and the twitter feed idea sounds very good.

My idea was a twitter sticky thread were you only post the twitter updates, and dont have any player discussions.
Read a few of those on other sites and they seem to work very well.

erm, think lucas was like passes completed or something, not sure though, anyways i just saw it mentioned, didnt really look into it fully, how old is Clichy?

I wouldn't have any problem with that, but it would take a lot of modding.

i think things are ok without a twitter thread to be honest, we'll deffo end up discussing the players on there, and posting twitter updates on their pages too, seems a bit pointless. the only problem is unspecified twitter updates, but if they're from reliable sources a suppose a whole thread devoted to speculation over it woud be pretty fun

He's good going forward, he's got a great engine, he can swing in a pretty good cross, he's "proven" in the Premier League, 5M for a left-back's good value, and he is quick.

Only one down side; he can't defend.

Pretty much spot on.

Haha, might be a bit of a problem that, what with Clichy being a defender and everything.

Its definitely a step up from Insua, Koncheskey and a never fit Aurelio.
But is he enough of a step up from Flanagan to warrant blocking his path to the first team ?

Yeah, cos Flanagan is a right back.

Flanagan is still only 18 years old. Time is on his side.
Kelly with his height, speed and strength has all the trademarks of a great centre half and I definitely see him playing in that position in the near future.
So I guess Flanagan will be next in line for the RB spot when Kelly moves inward.

Aurelio + a new left footed fullback is the way to go. A loan move with an option to recall would benefit Flanagan IMO.

I'm more excited about Robinson than Flanagan.
Haven't seen enough of him to judge him, at least at senior level.
We'll see how he does in pre-season.

i think we might start phasing out carra a bit this season, itl be interesting to see how dann (if thats who we get) pairs up with kelly at CB if thats the case

Not so sure about that. Carra will only lose his place if the mistakes become more frequent.
No European football means 38 games plus a couple more depending on how far we make it in the cups. I think he'll start every premier league game, if he's fit.

I more interested in what will happen with Kelly, Skrtel, Agger and Dann(if he joins).

well maybe this seasons a bit premature, maybe the season after, i suppose we'll need him though with all the champions league games. just think that its a perfect time to start giving the youngsters more regular playing time, i mean if we get a CB and a LB will we put glenjo on the right? will it be carra and dann in the middle? doesnt seem right to have kelly on the bench with how well he's done for us. suppose its a good problem to have though
