Gettin’ Guehi with it

Doesn't he only have a year left? He's not that good, is he?
He does. I think he's a more than capable CB, is a good age and English. The markets gone weird. Considering we got 35 for quansah, who is a lot less proven, I'm ok with this move.

The closer we get to the season starting the less likely I think a move for Eze is gonna be.

£30m on deadline day
They know we need a CB desperately. There’s an argument to say that the later it goes on, the higher the price gets. Of course we know they need to sell as it’s his last year, so it’s going to be an interesting one.
After the way we have handled the rest of the window so far, I have faith in the management.

It makes sense for all parties, but we do desperately need a CB. He's a good one, and most importantly, he's very comfortable playing football from all accounts, and is cool under the press. I hope we can get this done sooner rather than later.

It would be a disaster to go into next season with only 3 senior CBs with Joe Gomez's horrible injury record, Konate's need for rests, and an aging Virgil. We could really do with 2 CBs.

I agree - big fucking mistake if we don’t sign at least one CB - even if it’s a good youngster.

Yep and we've done this before

Is it just me wondering what with the talk of us signing some promising young CB like Charlie Cresswell why exactly we sold the one we already had in Quansah?

I think it'll be down to managers decision there tbh. I don't think he rated quansah and felt he couldn't improve the things needed.

Don't know if I agree, but we'll have to see

Yeah just seems like it's created an unnecessary issue. Might have just been easier to leave it until next summer.

I think we'll get someone in though.

I think Quansah was pushing for a move. It was quite clear that he wanted to play more. I think it was a good decision for him to leave.
He'll get to play senior football and if he improves we've got a 20% discount coupon.
I do agree that it's going to be tricky to find a better young English CB in the same age bracket, because he and Cresswell were starting for the u21s.
Cresswell is the classic no nonsense tough CB, strong and good in the air. He's not a ball playing one and isn't very agile.
