Gettin’ Guehi with it

I'm well aware of that, but both are short term injuries, both are top class in their positions and both are young enough to hold their places for several years. He'd be mad to go to either City or Arsenal. It's not like we pay peanuts either

Stones will leave in the summer, Ake likewise too. Khushanov is a bit shit, and on top of those injuries to Dias and Gvardiol, they're still just about within touching distance of the league. It makes sense for them. Obviously we're sat playing with our balls as Van Dijk approaches 35, Konate runs his contract down, Gomez continues to be made of Quavers and a 19 year old Leoni recovers from an ACL injury. Bravo.

Oh and we're shit with a shitcunt of a manager. For now, at least. Who knows what manager will be in charge next season, if he'll be any good and if he would even want Guehi. If I was Guehi, Liverpool would be slipping down the list. We might not even be in the CL next season.

Amazing to think we saw what happened last day of the window and haven’t sorted this deal with Palace. If he goes elsewhere it’s a shocker. Even more so in this age of homegrown players. Guehi & Quansah will be part of Englands back 4/5 in the future and we sold one & have fumbled the other.

Not really fumbled, Palace at the most very last minute!

Not fumbled at all. Glasner threatened to leave if Guehi went, so Palace pulled the plug. There was bugger all we could have done about that.

Maybe, but I think if we'd gone closer to a fee Palace found acceptable, they'd have accepted it regardless and it would have made absolute financial sense in the grander scheme of things. We left it until the 11th hour and low balled them.

Palace were quoted 65-70 mill for long periods of the summer transfer window. Given how notoriously difficult Parish is to deal with I don't want to blame Hughes to much for this one. In the end we reached an agreement for an okay fee for a player with 12 months left on his deal. Parish then just went back on his word after Glasner threatened to jump from the Selhurst Park roof.

I very much doubt it, Mark. They'd already accepted our offer, and still pulled out of the deal when Parish decided keeping Glasner was more important. It's not as if we'd have offered tens of millions more anyway.
