Isakly what we need

The way I see this (sadly) is that’s it’s just business. Isak and co got a decent contract in front of them and they signed as Newcastle’s club record signing. He got a massive pay rise and went from being someone who makes a few million in their working to life to making tens of millions. Three years on they’re stuck with the contract they signed. No clauses to trigger and no pressure to bear.

Boo hoo.

I don’t know if we need him or not. I don’t know if he’s a saint or a sinner. What I do know is that the whole hyperbole around his intentions, thoughts and desires are total wank

If we don't get isak, buy 2 forwards. Winger and a striker. Mateta and Fofana. We need bodies up top and our hardest games are early doors

Isak and Guehi are more likely than not, after the quotes in the last 24hrs.

The not for sale talk has completely stopped.

I agree they're more likely, and that's fine. But we need a winger. Either to rotate minor to rotate gakpo, if the plan isn't for Ekitike to be on the left. And if he is for the left, then we probably need another striker.

I know we probably needed the money, and hopefully we're going to be more clinical this year across the board; but we're looking a little light

My worry is that we're going to wait so long for Newcastle to sign anyone that we won't be able to bring anyone else in if they don't. I can understand waiting closer to the end of the window for Guehi, so long as we spend on a younger CB, but we need at least one more forward in now.

There’s been mention of a Rodrygo loan to buy over the weekend…now that could work

Fofana is the one if we are truly protecting Rio

Yep this is a very risky business - losing Diaz who was versatile has left us really short in the central striking areas, Wirtz is shit as a No. 9 type thing up front. We really need someone before the season starts, especially considering that there was no good impact from Gakpo, and the fact that he opted to bring on Harvey instead of Rio just did not make sense.

I think Mateta’s shit and no where near good enough for a top club.
He's not great, but tbh we just need a backup striker (if Ekitike is wide). Having a unit at least offers something, and his movement is decent

If Slot not willing to use Rio in yesterday's game then it means we need to replace Diaz's multi-functional ability like for like.

Ok, shit was a bit over the top, but I go back to, why would we sign players that aren’t good enough even for backup - it just makes the team less good and Slot won’t play them.

If he was like, really cheap, then maybe there’d be some sort of rational - but he won’t be cheap and he’s 28, so he’s not likely to get much better.

He’s the sort of player Everton would spaff a fortune on.

We don't need another Striker. If the opportunity presented itself to get Rodrygo on loan or Barcola. I'd even go for that French Kid who plays for Monaco but destined for Bayer Leverkusen for €50m as winger options. It doesn't.
The Charity Shield match showed we are good in attack, we have never had issues with scoring but its at the back where we leak goals. Slot has to workout a way with fixing that. We two bombarding fullbacks that leaves spaced behind them that allows opposition to exploit. Its lucky we have Ali in goal because if we had karius level keeper we would have only scraped top 4

We absolutely do need another striker.

Going into a season with one striker would be as stupid as going in with only 2 CB’s.

We lost the 3 senior options we had as a central striker and replaced them with one player.

It’s not rocket science, it’s just counting.

What I mean to to say is beyond Isak who will cost between £120-140m

Well of course… Isak & Ekitike is fine for the centre and Gakpo & Ekitike is fine for tge left hand side - that still leaves (as it stands) Rio, Doak, Danns & even Cheesie to cover all the attacking positions and play in some cup games.

We paid £80m for Ekitike, £116m for Flo and looking to get Isak for lets say £130m, we need to be realistic with budgetary constraints, as we will have a net spend of around £250m
In attack we will have Salah, Gakpo, Isak, Ekitike and Flo. We have Rio and Danns as back up (Cheesy and Doak, will be sold). I would have that French kid if budget allowed it, but it doesn't. We will score shit load of goals, its the other end that worries me

You mean Fofana?

I think him and Wharton are next seasons projects.

Nope, Maghnes Akliouche. He is available for €50m. The Fofana kid seems too lightweight. Reminds of Jeremy Doku in someway.
After the massive splurge, I don't think we buy anyone in next summer. Wharton, they'll want £100m for, not worth it. I think Trey is the cover for the #6 spot. I wouldn't mind Ederson from Atlanta but he isn't wanted by Hughes

Meanwhile, one injury at the back finishes our season.

Not that I've been keeping count or anything but this is now the 872nd tweet RE: Isak in this/transfer threads alone.

If I were a mod here, I'd be handing out bans to anyone that posts another shitty tweet about him, unless it's to say a deal is done.
No one's going to give mod status and no one will give you a gun, its all for the same reason
