Isakly what we need

Not that I've been keeping count or anything but this is now the 872nd tweet RE: Isak in this/transfer threads alone.

If I were a mod here, I'd be handing out bans to anyone that posts another shitty tweet about him, unless it's to say a deal is done.
It's from THE FIRM !!!

So is the narrative going to be "Newcastle strung us along, so we didn't have time to work on other deals" when we end up missing out on Isak and another forward?

Itd be that and "Liverpool are prepared to wait for the right player."
Newcastle have a small club mentality so they can fuck off I'm sick of their fans talking shit.
I constantly remind them my first game at anfield was the first 4-3 and I fucking loved it 🤣

Newcastle have handled this terribly it has to be said. Not a good look for any potential star players wanting to join them in the future.

Not a good look from all sides to be honest.

I wish we'd put in that second bid pronto. Because its not fair on the player rotting with the reserves.

It's all gone very quiet on a potential replacement hasn't it? Looks like this will drag on to the very end of the window now. I wouldn't be totally shocked if he's stuck there for another year tbh.

How is that our fault? Isak doing this strike crap is on him. We have already said we won't be putting a bid in until Newcastle come to us.

Told Newcastle want £150m, we low ball. Then say we won't be back unless Newcastle tell us to bid.

Its the kind of thing we accuse others of doing.

The Geordies are having no luck getting a striker. Samu has been priced out with his current club asking for £80m. The kid is worth £60m at most. They need a sporting director asap, thats their major issue. Had they had one, the striker situation would have been resolved.
Mika Biereth and Karim Adeyami would fix their striker issue

I've just assumed since the start that we'll have been involved in everything Isak's been doing. Not orchestrating it exactly, but definitely guiding and advising him.

Yep - there was some chatter around the likes of Sesko having 2nd thoughts about joining Newcastle because they see them as stepping stone clubs and want to be able to move on if the right offer comes.

Dortmund are probably a really good example of a “stepping stone” club that use it to their advantage - they’ll pay big money for kids, develop them, sell and go again.

Newcastle could have been smart about this, but it feels like they’ve let delusions of a sort, get in the way.

That can be assumed if at least a few players we've purchased over the last couple of years went on strike at their previous clubs before joining us. As far as I know none of them have. So it's a stretch to assume we've been 'definitely guiding and advising him' on his behavior.

None of those other signings have needed to go on strike. We're almost certainly in contact with him.

Yeah, I think it's on the player. There's a similar situation building with Guehi. We want him, he wants us, clubs some way apart on price, but Guehi is still doing his thing for Palace and hasn't fallen out with anyone.
I don't think anyone is questioning his performance at the weekend either.

Yes perfect example.

The big difference is that Guehi can negotiate with teams regarding a free transfer in 4 months time.

Isak has 3 years left on his deal but informed the club about wanting to move on 2 weeks before the season ended.
No doubt that he hasnt handled this well either but I can see why he has grown frustrated now.
