Isakly what we need

He’s a brilliant striker who’s been terribly unfit due to pre season
Brilliant? The lads no better than Ollie fucking Watkins…..the problem he also has is that at our club, we’ve had the likes of Bobby, Suarez, Torres, Owen and Fowler - who were all exceptional strikers… before that lot we had Kenny and Rush. The standard is so so high….strolling around the pitch is a one way ticket to ‘fuckoffville’

Gets some fucking sweat on your brow lad….

What would people give his cameo performance out of 10? 3? 4?

This has been a disaster so far. Especially when comparing him to Tekkers.

That is true. They created quite a lot, as expected.

How their lad stayed on after that stamp into Wirtz' stomach though?
What is a red if that isn't?
I’m shocked we got a free kick when compared to the Doku on Mac one a few years ago.

Its a cameo performance from a player short on match fitness and still playing catch up after no pre season. With games every 3/4 days there is hardly any training either - just recovery.

He’ll be a star for us. Just need some patience and we didn’t just buy him for this season.

Played well against Inter and with more starts we’ll see the real Isak soon enough.

Its coaching... its either Slot goes or he makes drastic changes to coaching. We have the right players to win the league but a coach at 6s and 7s who until recently has been fucking it up

Its not coaching. Its fitness and adapting to a new team without the necessary foundations in place.

I reckon we’ll see more of the West Ham performances these next weeks and a much better version of Isak going forward.
Next two weeks we got 2 games and a weeks training in between both of them.

Making Isak and Ekitike the vocal point of our attack and being without Salah will see an improvement. More touches, more chances, better confidence - more goals.

How long does he need? It’s now December and he’s looking painfully slow. Not just speed but how he moves his body.

Nah it's fucked. It's not working and it's never going to work. At least not under this manager.

We cannot seemingly get him involved in our build up and we cannot get him on the ball at the end.

Is it him? Is it the tactic? Don't know. Don't care.

We've pissed our transfer record up the wall. We should have got a first choice winger and we should have got a young striker as backup to Ekitike.

Just be patient. Its just a matter of time before he regains match fitness and finds his confidence. The signs were there against West Ham, and its unfortunate for him and us that its been so stop - start. Was always a risk given the lack of pre season. Playing catch up and injured then it results in you looking a yard short of everything.

I actually think we'll look much better without Salah in the team. Making Isak and Ekitike the vocal points in attack will get the best out of them, and will most likely make us look like a better team.
Its what we should have done this summer, but hindsight is a great thing.

The "he doesn't suit us, our tactics or our team" is a bad shout, though.

If we had paid £30m I'd still be disappointed.

He'll probably come good, but I was baffled at the time why we were going in for him after landing Ekitke, and I'm still none the wiser.

The more I think about all that, the more I wonder if it's Slot trying to make a point. Chiesa was very much a Hughes signing (brought up in Italy, speaks the language, attended the academy at Atalanta). Could it just be Slot trying to distance himself for that reason?

It was a no brainer replacing the Donkey with Isak and adding Ekitike. Two similar profiles but can play together as well. Just look at our team, squad and amount of games per season. No brainer.
Given time it will look like excellent business on and off the pitch.

Chiesa isnt a striker but should play more on the right wing now that Salah has gone.

Once we had Ekitike, I think spending that dough on Alvarez would’ve been a better move.
