It is fairly common on these board that there is heated arguments over the merits of individual players with many posters having polar opposite views.
I often find myself nodding sagely in agreement with the views of some while shaking my head in disbelief at others.

However I am interested to know if the same posters share almost identical opinions on all these divisive players or is it more random depending on the individual player.

Here is a list of players who seem to generate divided opinion. Feel free to add more players that I have missed and try and keep your yes/no based on their footballing contribution/ability and not on their personality

Here goes............

Kuyt -strong yes
Agger -weak yes
Skrtel -weak no
Wilson - yes
Lucas- weak yes
Meireles - strong yes
That's what I was looking for Kenny4.
Looks like we agree on most things apart from how bad you are at Xpert Eleven 😉

What does a yes/no mean?
I suppose it is a sort of an approval rating.Would you defend or criticise a player when his relative merits are being discussed. Are they worth their place in the team/squad based on their performances, ability and potential in your opinion.

That's pretty much how I read it.

Agree with most choices as far. On Skrtel I'm with Kenny4, albeit he hasn't had a tremendous season so far (nor has Skrtel 😉). I think either N'Gog or Crouch would do as back-up, so a weak "yes" for those two.

i've put yes for ones i like and no for ones i don't..... in case i did it wrong i thought i'd explain.

My own opinion is that if there is continual discussion on the forum about whether a player is good enough, then he isn't good enough.

If you take Dirk as an example, everybody loves him for his good qualities, including myself, but his skills are so lacking that in my opinion, we aren't going to get above a certain level while he is a permanent fixture in the team.

I don't think he is though. Once Carroll is fully fit I reckon Deadly will get fewer games, or at least start more on the bench.
