It's going to take time. The frustrating thing is not that he isn't firing on all cylinders just yet, it's that he's further behind than I would have expected after a full pre-season. I'm not panicking, but I'm not unconcerned either.
But I also think with a player of this reputation and cost, the expectation has to be not just that he will adapt to us, but also that we will adapt to him - he's the kind of player you build a team around, not the sort you slot in and expect him to adapt to a role.
And in the meantime we're still 3 points clear of everyone else, and two of the three teams on 9 points dropped their points against us. Where we are is not entirely down to luck, although luck has absolutely been a factor. The biggest disappointment for me is that we've been a really poor watch so far this season, although that's probably just as much down to the opposition we've faced and their ethos against us. I don't blame Burnley, what else were they going to do?, but I expect better of Arsenal than to be trying to win set-pieces from literally the first kick of the game.

There's neat and tidy playing the ball sideways and backwards, he wasn't doing that, he was trying to find passes between the lines and some came off and sometimes his teammates just didn't read what he was anticipating, you can see it's all there. His problem is the physical battle, but he started to grow into it as the game wore on, the more players we got forward, the more support he looked like he had and options around him. We weren't making those runs or giving him those options earlier in the game.
I think that's why I'm not massively concerned (but still a little concerned), because we have looked shit in attack. I think that it's mainly on slot to find a way to get it all to work

Exactly. The nutmeg pass he pulled off was amazing and really clever, but nobody expected that kinda thing so it didn’t work out, although the pass itself was great. I was watching him off the ball when we were in possession too and he was always moving into clever spots and always trying to create an opening and space.
On a serious note, Salah has earned all the respect and patience I afford him. He’s easily our best player since Kenny and arguably will finish our best ever if we can win another league title or 2 and a CL before he leaves.
I used to prefer Mane, Salah’s longitivtiy is unmatched. He’s a God among kings!

I wouldn’t spend 116M on a 22 year old foreigner who’s won one domestic title in a shite leagues. That was the whole point. The risk is too great for us to be spending that kind of money on an unknown quantity.

Well for 1, he's not an unknown quantity, & the club didn't suddenly just decide this was going to be a player they were going to spend that much money on, they're well aware of the risks involved and were desperate to get him on board regardless, I'll let the club decide what's too big of a risk over some goof that parades around in robes with Mo's cock in his mouth. He's here for the long term, not short term, certainly not 4 games........meaning he's the one we'll build the team around once that washed up cunt fucks off.

Yep as the pass was superb but the player of ours who should have seen it coming didn’t. Got wasted because others aren’t used to the stuff he can pull off. That will come with time.

Is 15 goal involvements a good starting point to say “successful”?
Would 20 goal involvements in the league be the point where he starts to hit “good”?
25 GI where he starts to become exceptional and over 30 a world class generational “we got him cheap” player?
Would less than 10 be an absolute disappointment?
For context, de Bruyne sat in the 15-25 GI range consistently when he didn’t miss have the season with injury and before he started to drop off in the final few years?
