Isakly what we need

We’d be getting a top 3 striker in the world. He’s the perfect fit for the team and the long term successor to Salahs goalscoring.
I’m fine with us spending 135 mill £ on him.

Hopefully we’ll get 60-70 mill in return for Darwin.

Yep, I think this is advanced and initial bid less than reported.

We’ll get him for around 120- 125m and cover about 45-50m of that with Nunez sale.

The only counter I have to this theory is that Newcastle are still briefing local journos they want 150m. If we don't hit that price point the fans will still be fucked off. It works be easier to just brief journalists over that 150m

Yeah, but that’s part of the song and dance for me. Their final PR push. Tried everything etc.

Romano and local Newcastle journos saying 2nd bid in the works
We'll see. Could see this being part of the dance. Whatever the 2nd bid is it'll get flat out rejected. Walk away. Focus on a CB. Float the rodrygo interest again. Forces Isak to submit a transfer request proper. Forces newcastle to get their replacements done stat. We come back in with a 120 all in offer.

Just as an aside, I took a look at Jacobs' Tw@tter page and there's an interesting snippet about the Mancs pushing for Sesko even though Amorim put Watkins' name forward. They really are at sixes and sevens.

Yeah, it’s deffo a club brief to the journos. We’ll bid again but will want to move the needle in our favor. Can see Isak putting in a transfer request.

I know there must be some logic to it but I still don't see the point in bidding when they haven't signed their striker(s). It's absolutely obvious that nothing will get done until then.

Is there any particular reason you don't like em?

Don't get me wrong I don't like them or TAW solely based on your dislike, but I cannot remember the reasoning, other than "pricks"
The first time I came across TAW and Heaton in person I was stood next to them at a Marine game. They spent a chunk of time slagging off the fella who does the on field announcements at Anfield only to have him on their show a week later and we’re all pally with him.

I work round the corner from their offices and I like a pint in the boozers round there. Often they’ll also frequent the same places and they chat so much shit about all aspects of the club. Some on the levels of the looniest shit you read on here.

Finally, Gutman is gutting out loads of pubs round here, treats staff like shit according to some accounts and charges a fortune for shit beer.

Sounds like a right game of fucking cunts

So if Isak is genuinely off the table, do we go into next season with just Ekitike and Gakpo(?) covering the striker slot?

No, me either. So who's plan b? Rodrygo? Seems like he might be big headed. I quite like the idea of Sesko cos he's 6'5" but expensive and would he want to fight for a place?

We haven't been linked with anyone else really.
