Florian and the (Slot) Machine

Some of you knobheads dont deserve him how much you have doubted this last week.
Ive been pissing in a coke bottle for a week, smell like shit, ive eaten nothing but space raiders for four days and me and the good Dr have rinsed 4 crates of super T.

ALL YOU FUCKERS HAD TO DO WAS BELIEVE
So you didn't bother with the camp then? 😉

You could definitely argue that Antony was overpriced at £85m.

Overpriced at half the price for what he gave to United.

I think something like 80% of the biggest transfers in the game have flopped hard. The bigger fees are certainly no indicator of quality, and often a result of desperation/more money than sense/lazy scouting.

it feels like that stat is weakening in the last season or two. rice, caicedo, fernandez, bellingham, kane are all humongous transfers that imo are at least decent.

As someone pointed out. We're the reigning league winners and the most successfull club in England. Yet we haven't got one player in the top 10 most expensive transfers in the league.

Its about time we consolidated our position and signed a top generational player for some serious money.
Then we also don’t have a single player in the top 10 flops of big money signing as the top 10 is full of them. Huge transfers very rarely work out. Ali and Virgil the exceptions and both were much further along in their development.

Any way we cut this is a massive gamble at that price.

Every transfer is a gamble. But less so when the data nerds are in charge and when we're signing an absolute baller that is plug and play.

That's a little misleading, H... In the very recent past, perhaps, but we did bid that 115m for Caicedio, and it's only a few years since we made VVD and Ali the most expensive signings ever for their respective positions.

True about Caicedo but we didn’t sign him in the end.

Virgin and Alisson is close to 7-8 years ago now.

Yes, it is, but I'd also argue that we didn't need to go out and spend 100m+ in the Jurgen days - We got Fabs and Mo and Sadio and Andy and Ibou, and now more recently Macca and Dom, etc... for bargain money, and it's obviously worked. The fact that we're not chucking endless money about like many of our (inferior) competitors has not stopped us from reestablishing ourselves as one of the planet's elite clubs again, both on and off the pitch.

Despite others claiming that FSG haven't done enough (which I don't always disagree with, by the way), I'm quite happy with how they conduct things, even if we're not always spending like drunken sailors... I'd not swap places with ANY club out there right now, and many have vastly outspent us, just to be looking up at us.

Looks like he picks a spot and is quite relaxed about the finish. Kinda the opposite to the donkey who just puts his head down and wellies it as hard as he can five yards high and wide but it didn't matter because he was offside anyway. More of a Gakpo type. Maybe we don't need him cos we've already got a Gakpo.

Probs an unpopular opinion but this flabby melt looks like he can thread a ball through the eye of a needle, and I think with Salah, Diaz and Gakpo all causing a nuisance and knowing where the net is we probably don't need to replace the donkey. Not that what I think matters anyway, just that there's only so much space on the pitch. Would love to see what Danns is made of too.

That's me told. Okey dokey. I'm just not feeling the love for the shite strikers on the market. I'd prefer another tricky winger type, even though with Frimpong and Kerkez coming in we've probs got five of the world top twenty already.

Fucking hell Trent is gonna be so full of regret.

Still needs the striker to stay onside though...
