Isakly what we need

No we don't, we just complain. In the end we do what the government tells us.
It's the country where the term "Stockholm syndrome" was coined, come on.
We're just behind the Scots in terms of servility.

Not familiar with that ABBA song, I’m sure it has a catchy chorus though.

I hate to be Captain Negative, but I suspect the Saudi owners will do all they can to prevent this move from happening, at least in this window (much as we did in the Suarez and Coutinho situations). They haven't signed any forwards, they're going into the Champs league, and the player has 3 years on his deal. Unless some deals happen rapidly for them I think we need to cool our beans.

The surprising thing in this whole saga is how weak Newcastle sounds regarding our supposed imminent offer. They’ve not come out with a ‘not for sale’ messaging in the press at all. It’s just been Howe with his very unconvincing interview.

I'm not sure. Newcastle have a problem with PSR don't they? In which case a huge fee for Isak would help them buy Sesko and maybe 2 more. It's the age old question - one star player or 3 more with the money. Which helps the team more? Especially if one gets the odd injury from time to time.

Looks like Sesko will go to Utd. Major blow that for an Isak deal. Still not exactly sure why we didn't just let them have Ekitike... seemed like a neat solution.

Who would they even go after at this point?

Ollie Watkins maybe?

Maybe we didn't want to end up with nothing, so getting Ekitike, even if he wasn't our first choice, was better than the risk of letting Newcastle get him and then seeing them somehow hang on to Isak, or losing out on Isak in a bidding war.

The Isak episode does feel a bit weird though. Feels like we approached Newcastle, got rebuffed and didn't like our chances, then took Ekitike, and then Isak starts to make noise giving us hope that maybe he would force a move, and so here we are, back in the hunt.

I still don't believe that. People are acting like Isak started making a fuss just out of nowhere. There's no way. He'd have been in contact with us one way or another for ages and the whole thing would've been co-ordinated. No way Isak asks for a move without knowing if anyone's gonna try for him.

Besides what Peter said above ... I thought we virtually got Ekitike sorted before all the Isak noise erupted.

Because then we would only have isak that can play up front. Nunez is definitely going this window. We need two strikers minimum.

Whatever happens, we did some elite MK ultra tapping up in the past year. Everyone we're interested in seems to be intent on joining us to the point of being brainwashed

Could've got a cheapo option or a LW who can fill in at striker. For me Isak should always have been the overwhelming priority.

We have some good inside links with a few of the players which helps

Szobo -> Kerkez
VVD / Gravy -> Frimpong
Frim -> Wirtz

Rumours that Newcastle have enquired re Muniz…so looks like they have to move on from Sesko…nothing’s going to happen quickly re Isak it seems..
