We are going to go into a game against our main title rivals this weekend. I would shit myself starting our £110 million signing in that game.
I’m trying to think of the top 25 midfielders to play in this league. I’m talking the Gerrards, Lampard, Viera, Keane, de Bruyne, etc. How many are built like Wirtz? Has there ever been a top slight attacking midfielder in this league? I’m not having Silva as one as he would not make top 25. This league is going to eat him up.

They were good and built like fucking units. This little string of piss is going to be destroyed.Come on mate - you can’t compare Wirtz to the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Viera or Keane - they’re completely different players.
David Silva is probably the best example, and is very comparable as a top attacking midfielder.
He’s clearly technically gifted, got great vision and sharp passing. He’s younger than Harvey Elliot and adapting to a new league and team in two tricky fixtures.
He’s maybe not quite settled as well as Ekitike, but much better than Kerkez who’s had 2 years to get used to the league at least.
We don’t play with a 10 though, which in itself puts him on to a hiding to nothing. Like Elliott, he’s never going to physically challenge any of that Newcastle midfield today or most others in the league. He can look great skipping past one man but then gets done by the second. He's a number 10, compare him to other number 10s - there are loads of number 10s built like him who've done wonders in the PL.
For me his issues so far have been sloppiness in possession and lack of sharpness, not physicality.
I am a bit worried about a lack of pace though. He looks really one paced sometimes. That was the one negative that really stood out when all his compilations started doing the rounds when we went in for him. I'm not sure we're ever going to see him slipping past defenders like he did in Germany, and that's a problem for the money we paid.

Anyway, we didn't buy him for that much for one season nor two. For him to do enough to make us better this season is asking a lot of him immediately, and the forwards around him to develop an understanding. The fact that we've not got anywhere near as good an outball also doesn't help him at all, nor the fact that our best midfield hasn't played.
So a pointless signing because we don’t play that way. And from the left when we have Ekitike and possibly Isak coming too.Wirtz isn't like those players, he can't play in a midfield 2 like those could. He's far more of a forward than a midfielder too seeing as he played in a front 3 for Leverkusen and generally plays off the left for Germany.
Eze
Juan Mata
Oscar
Van der Vaart types.

He’s been a passenger and you can’t win shit with passengers.

Nobody can be me, they could try.....but even that's a task in itself. I am 1 of a kind.

You're talking about Fabio and his 'alternative' fonts yeah?Last week, I think he was surprised by the speed and was caught taking too long or forcing into spaces that were already closing. This week he may have over adjusted and played it before anyone was ready to receive it. He’ll get there.
Arne is going to have to make a fundamental change to our formation for it to work. Going back to what Peter said earlier about him being a 10, we don’t play with one. He’s part of a midfield unit that is a 6 and two 8s. Mac and Slobby are box to box try to get physical. Mac doesn’t do it as well as Dom, but he does get stuck in.It's for Arne to sort out, I don't see why we can't get him in around the 20 yard box more where he's lethal and can actually display his class......at the moment he's having to drop too deep to pick up the ball because we're fucking pussies at the back when it comes to playing through the lines.....how are we supposed to find him in the half spaces with players like Curtis fucking Jones in the team? Our passing and possession stats under Arne have taken a huge hit.....even less so when it comes to passes/possession in the final third.
Besides we needed to replace the creativity Trent provided 1 way or the other, I don't see why he can't be a game changer. He hasn't been great, then again it's been 3 games and the positive impact he'll have on games won't solely rest on his shoulders.
We're playing shite and winning. The hope is we start paying betterI'm willing to give him - and us overall - a bit of time. But we can't afford too much because we won't score late winners every match.
Really need to defend better as a unit. Too many individual mistakes at the back and the backline as a whole exposed far too much.
