Week one is obviously a little early for the whole Mariota/Winston thing, but it played out like an extreme version of what everyone thought - Mariota would look good in a system tweaked to suit him. He' smart, makes good decisions, and should grow into the pro game. And despite his arm talent, Winston makes dumb decisions, dumb throws, struggles to read defences (the picks were bad), and has questionable backbone.
On paper, neither team is great, so it's only going to get harder for both. Mariota and the Titans can be hopeful, especially if they keep being smart. Mariota only threw 16 times. They tended to be short, quick deliveries (although he made a couple of good checkdowns), and they didn't have him running about like he did in Eugene. Bishop Sankey is going to be a big help. They protected him well and used him smartly.
Winston is surely going to get better, although they have an inexperienced line in front of him and I think he could fall into the trap of trying too hard. With his poor reading, secondaries could have fun with him.
